St Osmund’s Preschool is charity and situated in one of the most deprived areas of Salisbury City. We have been using the Potty Training Academy within our setting for the past 4 months. Presently we are paying over £1000 a year to have the nappies disposed correctly. We wanted to offer a service that engaged parents and children alike but also benefited the preschool and the results for such a small amount of time has been amazing. Initially we had 30 children who were in nappies, within four months this has now reduced to 20 children. The children have really enjoyed interacting with “Hollie” and “George” and following them in the storybook and DVD. Using the reward chart has become fun for the children, and having the same potties as “Hollie” and “George” has really helped some of our children to adapt to using the potty too. We have received only good feedback from our parents, some of whom were happy for their child to sign up to the academy but did not believe that their child was ready, within 2 weeks their child was no longer wearing nappies. Our parents have responded well to our setting promoting and implementing the Potty Training Academy. They enjoy using the potty training pack at home and have said it’s been great to see the children associate the potty with “Hollie” and “George”. The time spent with the parents implementing the intervention can be time consuming however, we feel it adds to the already good relationships we have with parents thus enabling us to support them in other areas too.

Little Pines Day Nursery –
The Potty Training Academy programme has worked very well in our setting. The staff have found all the the resources very useful and agree that Potty Training Academy has helped make the process of Potty Training much more fun and enjoyable. The children in our setting love the Magic Potty Training Reward Chart and choosing between lots of different magnets to put next to their name. The programme has also been received very well by our parents, they couldn’t wait to buy the ‘My Potty Training Packs’ and have said it’s made them very excited to start the process of Potty Training, rather than dreading it! We have had 6 families who have been following the system at home since we first implemented the programme and the parents have all said what a huge difference purchasing the Potty Training Academy has made.
